I’m going to steal the old Ross Perot line, “I’m Mad" I’m mad the government thinks they can give away our money and it will somehow make our economy recover. Folks, how about a little common sense? How will going into more debt and paying more interest do anything to help us? We already pay $500,000,000 a year in interest just to service the debt. All these stimulus packages are just the equivalent of “kiting” a check. You know, write a check and float yourself a loan until pay day when you can cover it. Problem is we’ve been floating the loan for years and just like our own checking accounts, we just get further and further behind. Now we are going to float another one but this time we are going to make it a trillion dollar one. News flash to the White House...We do not have the money to fund your buy the vote program. (not that that really matters to anyone)
I won’t even go into the pork barrel projects attached to it like giving left wing, voter fraud champion ACORN a shot at $4 billion. Folks, ACORN is just the tip of the iceberg.
Under this new plan even if you don’t pay any income tax your refund (refund, that’s funny) will go up. You will also get more in an Earned Income Credit for each of your kids that you didn't pay any tax on so you definitely will want a bunch of them. If you aren’t working which most of the people in the previous two sentences can be counted in then you will get an increase of $25 a week in unemployment and it will pay unemployment for a longer period of time. This is in addition to the welfare checks, food stamps, and free or subsidized housing. The new package relaxes the provision requiring the person to get a job at some point. Let me summarize. It will pay you more for not paying taxes, it will pay you more for having more kids while you aren't working and it will give you more incentive to sit on the front porch and not get a job. Can one of you economy experts tell us why someone in the above category would want to get a job? How in the hell does this create jobs? I actually know the answer, it helps keep the poverty pimps employed/get re-elected.
We and I mean all of us because we allowed it to happen, have caused a large part of our society to have no incentive to work or be responsible. They EXPECT or should I say DEMAND the government take care of them. This new program makes their lifestyle even more attractive to the ones that are already pissed off because they work 50 hours a week while their next door neighbor sits on the front porch and collects a check.
Can this really be happening? Yes, Obama has to feed the base / keep the vote paid for. All the fat cat democrats and 3 misguided republicans backed this latest round of waste.
People, our economy cannot stand the waste of money coupled with the pork, coupled with the incentives it provides people to not go to work.
There’s no stopping it now, it is happening. Even if 4 years from now we can vote Obama and his cronies out the damage will be done. Trying to turn off the money faucet to people that expect to have their bills paid for them will be next to impossible. I am not a Kool-Aid drinking republican. George Bush and the rest of the republicans took the spend and waste handoff from Clinton and ran hard with it. But Obama, he's taken it for a touchdown while at the same time hitting a grand slam, making a hole in one and sinking a basket from half court.
Obama’s health care plan, diplomacy plans, banks, the auto industry and unions …I will save it for another day, I am too worked up to try and tackle it today. ("tackle", hey there's a concept. Seems our last 3 administrations have been too slippery for anyone to slow them down. Yes, I'm funny and clever as well as ruggedly good looking. Emphasis on rugged or maybe even just rough, anyhow...)
If each and every one in the country could write a check for $36,000 we could get out of debt. That would be $144,000 for my family of 4. Yes, even the people that pay no tax now would have to write the check for themselves and each of their kids. How long do you think I would make it trying to float $144,000 worth of checks until pay day? I can feel the handcuffs biting into my wrist just thinking about it.
Here's my plan: Do nothing and let the chips fall where the may. Our economy will recover on its own unless we continue to artificially prop it up. There will be some hard times for all of us. I don’t have 2 dimes to rub together but I will work harder and make it just like every American should do. Keep the government out of private business. The businesses will correct themselves and we already know the government doesn't know how to manage money.
All these new packages will do nothing more than increase our debt, put more people on the government welfare program and lengthen the recession.
